The Amalfi Coast
Sept. 30 - Oct. 7, 2017
$5,200 pp/double occupancy

Magnificent Amalfi Coast
LIKE NO OTHER PLACE ON EARTH

Here is a rare opportunity to experience the Amalfi Coast in a villa above Positano like you've never imagined. Picture a villa perched high above the sparkling Mediterranean, dotted with mandarin, lemon and almond trees and bordered by bougainvillea and jasmine. Between the delicious, fresh from the garden meals, limoncello and the views from the terraces - your senses will be on overload! Heaven on earth, that's what it will be for seven fabulous days? Sound like paradise?

PRIVATE VILLA PERCHED ABOVE POSITANO
Once you step through the stone portal, the villa starts to work its magic as the cares and worries of the outside world begin to slip away.  We've pulled out all of the stops when it came to choosing this four-story villa. Set amongst the hills overlooking the harbor of Positano, the villa is lavished with magnificent chandeliers, rare antiques and period artworks. A gorgeous outdoor dining area on the terrace provides the perfect spot for al fresco breakfasts, sunset aperitifs and candelit dinners.  Set next to the garden is the pool with an infinity-edge complete with sun-beds to enjoy the panoramic view of Positano. The villa's dramatic cliff-clinging location  involves a  climb up about 150 stone steps or about a 5 to 15 minute walk down the steps to the beach.

YOUR OWN TERRACE
Like the villa's first owners, our guests sleep in sumptuous suites decorated with antiques and period paintings; the only difference between then and now is the latest technology and comfort. Each of the suites has it's own terrace and comes with its own spacious bathroom boasting beautiful Neapolitan ceramic tiles.

FULLY STAFFED
In addition to the amazing views and amenities is the staff to pamper your every need; because after all it is your vacation.  From the moment we arrive, porters will be there to take the luggage up to the villa. We have a personal chef for breakfast and dinner each day, who makes her own fresh squeezed juices and marmalades with the fruit picked from the Mediterranean garden. For all of those interested in cooking, the chef is happy to welcome you in the kitchen to assist. You may want to learn how to bake bread or pizza in the villa's antique forno (oven). In addition to a chef, we have a waiter, cleaning staff and 24/7 concierge who will be there overseeing our every need.

CHARTERED BOATS AND PRIVATE DRIVERS
Guests have the opportunity to do as much or as little as they want from our home base. This year we've hired private drivers so we won't have to rely on public transportation or have difficulty finding a parking place. The Amalfi Coast is one of the worlds best-loved scenic stretches, and Positano is one of its most particularly picturesque spots. Divide your time between taking in the life-affirming views on coastal drives or boat trips and soaking up the sunshine on the beautiful terraces at the villa.

Itinerary Overview
SOLD OUT!
One of the gems of this travel experience is that everyone is free to do as much or as little as they like and at your own pace in the towns visited. With each trip the schedule is adapted to include special events of the season, serendipitous moments or to accommodate inclement weather.  Prior to the trip, participants will be given a list with some of our favorite places to shop and dine in the cities we visit.

  1. Sept. 30, 2017
Saturday, Arrival day - Naples airport
INCLUDED IN THE COST: Transportation to villa Accommodations Welcome gift Welcome reception w/wine Dinner w/wine
Plan to arrive in Naples at the airport no later than 1:00 pm where you will be met by Anne or Dennis. Our drivers will meet us and take us to the villa. From there we will have lunch in Positano while we wait for check-in. That evening we will have welcome reception and dinner at the villa.
  2. Oct. 1, 2017
    Sunday - Positano
INCLUDED IN THE COST: Accommodations Breakfast Dinner
After a long day of travel and jet lag, today is the perfect day to relax and enjoy the villa or go into town. Positano is a small city, steps from the sea and clinging to the towering cliffs. It's so picturesque with its tumble of pastel colored houses stacked up one above the other on the steep slopes. Since the 60's it has become a holiday resort favored by the elite and specializes in activities such as shopping, eating, sipping, boat-hopping and, especially, people watching.
  3. Oct. 2, 2017
    Monday - Pompeii and Vesuvius
INCLUDED IN THE COST: Accommodations Breakfast Transportation and tour Dinner
Today we will visit Pompeii and learn the history from a knowledgeable tour guide. It was once a resort town inhabited by wealthy Romans who were known for lavish spending and as the "Las Vegas" of the Roman Empire. Since Vesuvius had not erupted in several hundred years, people thought that living near the most recognizable landmark looming over the Bay of Naples was safe. At the time of the eruption in August 79 AD all 20,000 people could have safely escaped had they not tried to go back and get more of their possessions.
  4. Oct. 3, 2017
    Tuesday - Sorrento
INCLUDED IN THE COST: Accommodations Breakfast Transportation Dinner
We will be driven to the bustling town of Sorrento with more breath-taking views of the Gulf of Naples. There is no shortage of things to do: Have a romantic lunch on the terrace at the Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria, at the heart of Sorrento's historic quarter is the Sedile Dominova, a 16th century frescoed loggia that is a colorful backdrop for having coffee and serenading waiters singing "Come Back to Sorrento". Shop along Via San Cesareo for quaint artisan workshops with the inevitable mix of locals and tourists bustling through the centre.
  5. Oct. 4, 2017
Wednesday - Amalfi, Atrani and Ravello
INCLUDED IN THE COST: Accommodations Breakfast Transportation Dinner
Our first stop this morning is a visit to Amalfi with its tightly packed Moorish style villas and palaces tidily lined up on the terraces sloping down to the sea. From there we will stop in the picture-perfect town of Atrani before heading to my favorite town Ravello. Perched high in the hills, the village of Ravello is an eccentric maze of stone staircases and medieval houses built around an 11th-century cathedral. Some of the most beautiful vistas in the world is at Villa Cimbrone. It is famous for its Terrace of Infinity, suspended between the sky and the sea.
  6. Oct. 5, 2017
    Thursday - Capri
INCLUDED IN THE COST: Accommodations Breakfast Hydrafoil to Capri Dinner
Known as the "Pearl of the Mediterranean" and today, the scene in Capri is thriving with its trafficless streets lines with designer shops against a backdrop of staggering natural beauty. It was Jackie Kennedy Onassis in the late 60's who put Capri on the map with the famous Capri pants. Capri is equally famous for their distinctive Caprese style: bright colors, flowing cuts and jeweled details. Bright colorful linen tops are an island staple and also the handmade leather sandals.
  7. Oct. 6, 2017
Friday - Private Boat Charter of Amalfi Coast
INCLUDED IN THE COST: Accommodations Breakfast Private boat charter Lunch Dinner w/wine
We will take it easy today and enjoy a chartered boat ride of the scenic coastline and visit some of the hidden caves and the sparkling clear waters.Take some of the best photos you wi€ll ever take as we discover hidden inlets and grotto! We wi€ll pass the coastal towns of Praiano, the fiord of Furore, Sofia Loren'€s villa at Conca dei Marini, Atrani, and Amalfi. Truly, a day to remember for years to come!
